At some point, some casinos shut down their business. Shutting down casinos is no longer the option now. The seven operating facilities are recording high results in December 2017. After accumulating what they have, the results are encouraging. Although there is an increase, it is good to point out at something. Some operators are still apprehensive. What worries them is nothing but competition.
0.3% Revenue Increase
The revenue increase for year-on-year is 0.3 percent as of December 2017. The increase brings the sum of revenue to $2.41 billion. The 2017 revenue increase is the first year-to-year increase since 2006. Internet gambling also comes in as a contributor. The sector accumulates $245 million. These figures are from the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Every Single Casino Wins More
The new chairman of the state’s gaming control board says this is encouraging. James Plousis is a happy man. He recently comes on board, and the gaming sector is recording tremendous increase. He says that this is a show of a healthy resurgent. James says that everyone knows what happens. He is referring to the closing down of 5 out of 12 casinos. The facilities close down following a decade of economic hardship.
“Every single casino wins more. Things are the same with the online sector. Every internet operation reported an increased win last year. Total internet win has its fourth straight year of double-digit increases. It shows an industry that is getting stronger. The gaming sector is getting healthier and well-positioned for the future,” James says.

The Borgata takes the lead. The facility collects the highest revenue. According to the board, the casino has $800 million. This is a rise of more than 4.4 percent from 2016. Coming in the second position is Tropicana Casino. It is surprising that this facility is almost shutting down. There are close to true rumors of bankruptcy. Today, the casino collects $390 million. This gives it the second-largest contributor. Besides, this is the facility that records highest percentage increment of 14.6.
Harrah’s Plays A Big Role In Atlantic City Casinos Revenue Increase
Number 3 is Harrah’s. The facility gets the position with a rise of 1.6 percent. Her figures stand at $363 million. Caesars is fourth with $325 million. This figure represents a 7.6 percent. Coming in at number 5 is Golden Nugget that rises by 14.4 percent. The casino collects $288 million.
Bally’s comes in at position 6. This facility records a rise of 0.1 percent. But the increase is worth it because it registers $211 million. The last of Atlantic City Casino sector is Resorts Casino. Also, this is a new facility that opens in 2015. It collects the least of the seven at $190 million. The beauty is that this is a 10 percent rise.
